Korean Kuchiku
Koreans have strange names.... though most of them sound the same, they sure do have funny meaning... for example, the english translation of one of my colleague's name here is " White dragon seashore" .... he he he he he..... and another person's name is " nice kind bright red"...... when u hear their english names... u will for sure feel that their actual korean names are better!!!!
South Korean men are supposed to serve/get trained in army after graduation. It is mainly due to the increase in north korean army strength which has caused a bit of tension in a relatively less stronger south korean army..... So, i do actually see a lot of my colleagues here walk around in army dress in office... they can work as they serve the army for 2 yrs...... 2 yrs service need not mean training in the battle ground, but wherever it is... the men have to undergo some physical training to make themselves ready for war whenever they are in need...... As a part of training.... our colleagues here guard the company in nights patrolling the office walls!!!!
It's not a "no option" rule in S.Korea... one can actually reduce his army training from 2 yrs to just 4 weeks, if he studies PhD( 4 to infinite yrs) ;;;;)))) ... aaah, this makes me wonder, which wud be better ... he he he he
In S.Korea, schooling starts at the age of 7 or 8..... so, people graduate only at the age of arnd 24/25...... so, by the time an Indian s/w engineer gets married and has 4 kids, a korean engineer wud have just started his career...... the avg age of marriage for a girl here is 26-29 and for a guy is 30-32......
Info about S.Korea:

* The country is as hi tech as any other developed country in the world
* It's currency is WON . 1 US$ = 1000 wons
* Seoul and SUWON are the main cities of SKorea

* The whole country is filled with sky scrapers and only few wealthy people afford to live in independent houses
* There is no concept of lay off. Even a job in s/w company is a life time job.
* If there are 100 shops in a street, 40 of them will be departmental stores, 40 will be restaurants and 20 will be the rest.
* SOJU is their national drink.... it's a 22% alchoholic drink made out of rice... it's is used more than water from kids to grannies
